AN OPEN VERDICT. By Telegraph—Press AssociationWhangarei, Nov. 22. At the inquest concerning the dual tragedy at Kara on Saturday, the mdence disclosed that the two brothers lived together. The elder one was found dead on the floor of the house with a bullet in his head, and the younger was found dead in the bush later, also with a bullet wound in his head. A verdict was returned in the case ot Edward Thomas Smith that death was caused by a wound, but that there was insufficient evidence to show by whom it was inflicted. The verdict in the case •of John Martin Smith was that death was due to a wound self-inflicted.
