THE STRATFORD SHOW.
ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. Right from its inception an energetic committee took hold, of the Stratford Show, and set out to make it the premier dairy show in the Dominion. How thpy succeeded those who have visited past shows know, each year proving the show to be of very high standard, the dairy cattle for quality and number be ing hard to surpass anywhere. This year’s show promises to be equal to the .best show yet held. Breeders are supporting the society well, with the result that the cattle classes show a considerable increase on last year. Jerseys are slightly down in numbers, but the quality is all there, whilst Ayrshires and Friesians show an increase. Shorthorns also have very considerably -increased. Pigs have drawn more competition than usual. The horse sections\ are particularly good, whilst the competitions are well in excess of last year, thus giving plenty to interest j those people who are not actively asso- | ciated with dairying. The side-shows i this year are much in excess of any previous year, and quite a large number of them possess unique attractions that will appeal to all. Indeed- it can be said that this year’s show is certain to please every section of the crowd, for whose comfort and convenience in the way of catering, etc., the society have made every preparation. Wednesday will be he opening day, and Thursday is the people’s day. '
