Th* Prince of Wales, after an hour of Ceremonial visits on board the Renown, where he received the Viceroy and seven young ruling Rajputna Princes. went ashore in a barge. A wonderful picture was presented as the barge drew up to £he quay-side, the fleet flring a salute. The Prince greeted the ruling Princes and chief Government officials on a covered dais, seated on a golden throne, with the Vicerov and Governor of Bombay. The Prince read the King’s message to India. Volleys of cheers started him on the five-mile procession to Government House, amidst the acclaim of deuce crowds, including the native population throughout. He held a reception in the Durbar Hall fct Government House. The sentence from his speech: T want you to know Vie and I want to know you, ’ roused frantic applause. Received Nov. 20, 5J> p.m. Delhi, Nov. 18. At the Prince’s request, native princes Bnd chiefs attended a reception at the Bombay Government House devoid of all ceremonials This is regarded as a great concession on the part of Indian nobles, and marks the first occasion in history where the native governing classes have made an informal call on a member of the British ruling house. Subsequently the Prince attended a nnmber of other functions, and motored through a brilliantly illuminated city. He departed for Poona by special trairi. w-Reuter.
