MEAT IN BRITAIN.
CLEARING ACCUMULATIONS. AGENTS-GENERAL SCHEME. By Telegraph —Press Assn —Opyrlgfa* London. Nov. 18. Mr. Shepherd (Commonwealth), Mr. J. E. Hunter (Queensland), Sir J. D. Connolly (Western Australia), and other Agente-General interested in the meat production, are co-operating to formulate a scheme under which British, Commonwealth and State Governments may combine to secure a clearance of accumulated stocks of meat in Britain and Australia, which are now depressing prices and undermining the reputation of Australian meat. It is proposed to ask the Governments concerned to acquire the stocks and re-sell at nominal prices to the Russian Famine Relief Commission, thereby clearing the way for new Australian supplies. It is understood Mr. Hughes has instructed Mr. Shepherd to inquire and report immediately. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
