THE ARBUCKLE CASE.
JURY NEARLY SELECTED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. .New York, l6. San Francisco reports that the twelfth of the tentative jurors was quickly chosen after the court reassembled for the Arbuckle trial. One of the five women .chosen was alleged to have asked a friend to pray that she should be chosen for the jury. The women denied the accusation, but the prosecution declared its, intention to bring affidavits to that effect. Arbuckle declared: “I don’t care whether men or women are chosen, just 'so long as they give me a fair trial.” The prosecution appeared to disconcert Arbuckle by referring to him as the “once famous cinema comedian who is rapidly entering into oblivon.”
