IRISH PROBLEM.
PROTEST BY ELSTER. I ~ I FREEDOM FROM SINN FEIN. I SUPPORT FOR SIB J. CRAIG. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. Received Nov. 17, 8.30 p.m. London, Nov. 17. A crowded Ulster Unionist Council demonstration at Belfast protested against the Government’s policy. Sir James Craig telegraphed: “I ask you to support my colleagues and myself in every step we consider necessary to maintain freedom from Sinn Fein domination, while still striving for an honorable peace. Our honor and prestige, and perhaps the whole future of the Empire, are at stake.” Mr.. Robert Anderson, M.P., proposing a resolution supporting Sir James Craig’s action, said Ulsterites’ feelings against the Dublin Parliament were tenfold stronger than ever before. Ulster would not submit to be a vassal of the Sinn Fein Government. The Rev. Irwin, an ex-Moderator of the Irish Presbyterian Church, said Ulsterites would follow Sir James Craig wherever he led them. The resolution was adopted amid en-thusiasm.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
