FAILED TO APPEAR. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day David McArthur Todd, charged with another man with the theft of a portmanteau and contents, failed to appear. A warrant for his arrest was issued. FINES FOR STRIKING. Auckland, Last Night. In the Magistrate’s Court to-day, Mr. J. E. Wilson, S.M., imposed fines of each on twenty-one stokehold hands for the strike on the Mokoia at the time of the jockey dispute. The final decision had been deferred pending an appeal by one stoker previously con- , victed. CHARGES DISMISSED. Invercargill, Last Night. At the Police Court, three charges against Timothy Edward Cosgrove, of breaking and entering at Tuatapere and Grepuki, were dismissed, the evidence failing to connect accused with the crimes. Cosgrove eluded the police in the bush country for some months, but Recently surrendered.
