THE WOOL MARKET.
WELLINGTON DEADLOCK. STATEMENT BY THE PREMIER By Telegraph —Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The postponement of the Wellington wool sales were mentioned in the House this afternoon. Mr. Massey said that his attention had been drawn to the difficulty which had arisen and which was likely to cause the postponement of the / Wellington wool sales. He at once got into touch with the actingmanager of the Bank of New Zealand, and he promised to get a meeting of the Associated Banks’ representatives to consider the position. The wool brokers met this morning and he heard all sides of the question. The bankers were meeting this afternoon at 3.30, and although he could not guarantee anything, he was hopeful that a satisfactory settlement would be arrived at. He understood a similar difficulty had recently been overcome at Sydney, and he trusted those concerned would be able to follow the example set by New South Wales.
