MAORI REVUE.
THE AOTEAROA COMPANY. A Maori revue company staged a programme at the Empire Theatre, New Plymouth, last night before a large attendance. Choruses, poi dances, and hakas were given with real Native abandon, and the performers did not fail to please their audience in the various numbers. z The choruses, “Song of Dreams,” “Maori Love Song” and others, were rendered in tuneful style, and variety was lent to the programme by recitations, comic numbers, and soloo. The company possesses a number of pleasing singers." and several item were staged in accredited revue style and costuming, the soloists being supported by choruses from the remaining members. The proceeds of the revue are to be devoted to support the Maori candidate m a carnival queen contest which is being held at Hawera in connection with a movement to raise funds for improvements to the school grounds.
