STRATFORD SHOW.
Entries for stock to be exhibited at the Stratford Show close to-morrow (Thursday), and exhibitors who have not made their entries and intend doing so, are advised to keep this in mind and make their arrangements accordingly. To meet the requirements of Bell Block .exhibitors, the Railway Department have decided to allow the 11.50 train from New Plymouth to take stock shipped at Bell Block consigned to Stratford. It is gratifying to- note that the. Shorthorn breed of cattle, which was in such a minority last year, will be in stronger force' than seen for some time past. The Jersey, Friesian and Ayrshire sections promise particularly keen competition, and visitors will have an opportunity of comparing the merits of the respective breeds from some of the best strains :n the country. Ring events, horse, sheep and pig entries are well up to the standard, and it is expected they will all show by Thursday evening a preponderance over the 1920 fixture. AiV interesting feature in the junior section will be the exhibit sent over to New Zealand by the Samoan Administration; this exhibit includes brushwork drawings, plasticine modelling and other work done by the school children in Apia. To the many people who look upon the show as the day’s outing for the year, the sido shows will provide plenty of opportunity for a thorough good day’s amusement, the variety and quantity which' have made application for space exceeding those of any previous year. The special excursions provided by the Railway Department from New Plymouth, Hawera and the back countryon the Toko line, enable farmers and residents from the whole of Taranaki to take advantage of an enjoyable, instructive and entertaining day’s outing.
