ELTHAM TOURNAMENT. / Final arrangements have now been made for the staging of the professional light-weight I contest between "Billie” Preston and Stewart Smith, in the Town Hall, Eltham. on ■ Wednesday, 23rd Inst. Preston, whose age is only 20, has had an excellent career. Out oft 20 flgtys since entering the professional class, he has had 19 wins, and bolds the honor of never having been knocked off his feet. Both the trainers of Smith and Preston declare that their men arc in excellent condition, and are confident of winning. Doubtless this contest will prove one of the biggest draws yet experienced in Taranaki, and intending patrons are advised to book early. The booking to date shows that there will he no vacant seats of consequence on tte evening of the 23rd. Mr. Alan Maxwell referees the professional and amateur contests.
