The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house under date lltb instant:New Zealand Butter.—Government, first grade £!» ISs to £lO per cwt. Market steady. Cheese.—White £4 8s to £4 IBs per cwt.; colored £4 4s to £4 8s per cwt. Market stronger. N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE REPORT. At Opunake on the 31st ultimo we had a fair yarding. Bidding was lagging, but the majority of the vendors had come prepared to meet the market. We quote: Slips 245, fre9h conditioned cows to £2 Bs, yearling steers Ils to 153/ heifers £2 to £3, bulls. Jersey, Shorthorn and Holstein (various) £2 2s Gd to £9, dairy cows £7 to £B, heifers £5 to £9. At Manala on the Ist instant we had a small yarding. Prices at late rates. At Palmer Road on the 4tb instant forward cows made £2 5s to £3 ss, others 17s Gd to 365, ooar £3, dairy cows £9 to £l3 10s, heifers £6 5s to £lO ss. At Eithaun on the. 9th instant we had a medium yarding. Store pigs (small) to 375, weaners to 22s Gd, sows to £2 10s, store cows 19s to 27s Gd, empty heifers to £3 17s Gd. yearling ditto £2 ss, hulls at .market value, dairy heifers £5 to £lO. At Hawera on the 10th instant we had a fairly good entry. Porkers made to £3, small stores to 365, weaners I4s to 245, sows (in pig) 30s to £2 12s Gd, m.s. hoggets (medium) 7s Gd. fat cows £5 3s to £5 18s, forward ditto to £2 14s. others 15s to 255. 2-year Steers 35s to £2 10s, 3-year ditto to £3 10s, fat bullocks £B, yearling steers IDs, bulls at market value, Jersey 15-enontli heifers to £9, Jersey cross £3 to £4 7s 6d. In the dairy pens the majority were inferior, consequently the prices were low. Dairy heifers £5 to £lO 10s. WELLINGTON WOOL SALE. QUANTITIES NOT LIMITED. , By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The New Zealand series of wool sales open at Wellington on Thursday, when 5648 bales will be offered. The catalogue contains some attractive wool suitable for America and Bradford. There hits been no limit placed on the quantities to be offered. B.A.W.R.A. reserves will be adhered to.
