ELECTORAL BOUNDARIES.

COMMUNITY OF INTEREST CONSIDERED. TARANAKI MORE COMPACT (By Our Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Nov. 12. Maps showing the new electoral boundaries were displayed in the Parliamentary Buildings to-day for the information of members of the House. They attracted a great deal of atten? tion, and the effect of the changes that have been made by the boundary •commissioners were discussed. It appears that the commissioners have, taken advantage of the increased margin allowed them by the legislation of last year in order to preserve community of interest, and to give full weight to geographical considerations. Some members of the House have grievances, as might be expected, but the complaints do not appear to be numerous. The most important alterations arise from the disappearance of the Bruce electorate, and the creation* of a new electorate, in the Waikato district. The Taranaki electorates have been ehanged to some extent. ■ \ Taranaki has become a more electorate. It has lost some territmy at. the northern end of Egmont, the area transferred including Puniho, Warea and Pungarehu. The Stratford electorate has also taken in a piece of Taranaki, the new territory being the Inglewood county boundary, instead of the Inglewood borough boundary.
