A CHAMPION COW.
NEW RECORD FOR NEW ZEALAND. HONOR TO TARANAKI. Advice has been received in Palmerston North that a new record has been created for the milk and but ter-fat production championship for junior two-year-old cows ■ in the Dominion. The new record breaker is a Friesian heifer named Monovale Queen Bess, and starting her test at 2 years 16 | days she has put up 20,5011 b of milk and ! 7401 b of butterfat in 365 days. I* The heifer is owned by Mr. T. 11. Richards, of Cardiff (Taranaki), and her sire is named King Baddie. She was bred by Mr. W. McKenzie, of Palmerston North, I* secretary of the New Zealand Friesian Association. The record was previously held by Rosa j Poach of Oakview, owned by Mr. H.- R. j Green, of Kriranga.
