QUESTION OF BETTER METHOD. GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Amongst the Ministerial replies to questions given in the House to-day was the following:— That if any better methods than those at present in operation for the marketing of our meat can be obtained, such methods being in accordance with proper commercial principles, the Government is quite prepared to do Its part in assisting to make them a success. It is essential in endeavoring to bring about such improved methods that efficient business connections be established in Great Britain in order that the trust’s methods qiay be effectively combatted. Any businesslike scheme which is submitted to the Government will be given most sympathetic consideration, and with a view_of furnishing such assistance in establishing it a Bill has been prepared and is now receiving consideration.
