OBITUARY.
MR. THOMAS B. WINFIELD. The death occurred at his residence, Moturoa, yesterday of Mr. Thomas B. Winfield, after a somewhat lengthy illness. The late Mr. Winfield, who was 57 years of age, was a well-known ■teacher under the Taranaki Education Board, and was at the Frankley Road School for’ nearly twenty years, having taken charge there after being for a period at the Norfolk Road School. In addition to his school activities Mr. Winfield took a leading part in local affairs while at Frankley Road, and had a kindly disposition which earned many friends. He was an. excellent teacher, with splendid capabilities for handling children, and one who appealed to the best that was in the pupils, with gratifying results in school work. Mr. Winfield retired to live in New Plymouth about four years ago. He was a member of the New Plymouth Bowling Club, and in this and other spheres his friendly personality will be mjich missed. He is survived by hjs widow and two daughters, Mrs. Eric Shaw and Miss Winfield. A brother, Mr. J. W. Winfield, resides at Inglewood.
