RECORD IN ATTENDANCE. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the West End School Committee was held on 'Monday night, when Mr. J. S. S. Medley (chairman) presided over a good attendance. Leave of absence was granted to Mr. J. Hawker, who had met with an accident, and a resolution was passed expressing the hope that he would soon be restored to normal health. The headmaster (Mr. D. P. He had gone into the question of procuring pictures, etc., for adornment of the class-rooms, but had nothing definite to*place before the committee. Mr. Moore, the Education Board’s architect, had intimated that the ventilation of Standard V. room would receive attention at the earliest opportunity.

The Royal Life-Saving Society notified that the competition for the Tabor Shield would be held not later than the third week in February. They asked that if possible a team be entered for the competition. Messrs. Beal and J. Y. Hoskin, representing the Kawaroa Park Committee, met Hie committee in connection with gala day. It was resolved to hold the annual gala on December 10 at Kawaroa Park, concluding with a dance in the evening. Various committees were
