EXPENDITURE OPPOSED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright Received Nov. 8,5 J p.m. Suva, Nov. 8. The legislative Council has adjourned sine die, the elected members refusing to vote supplies. They have cabled a protest to the Secretary of State againat spending £40.000 on the erection of a new Government Houee. and proposing £20,000. Notwithstanding the record revenue for 1921 the accumulated deficit exceeds £2OOXKM). and they consider that the proposed new taxation will injure industries.—Aus.-N.Z. Gable Assn.
