WAGES DISPUTE.

STRIKE AT AUCKLAND. By Telegraph —Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. As the result of a difference regarding wages for casual workers at the Vacuum Oil Company’s stores, the men ceased work yesterday afternoon and are still out. The award provides for 2s an hour, with 2£d bonus, and the men demanded 2s Bd, the rate paid to watersiders handling oil. The Conciliation Commissioner addressed the men * at the entrance to the works, urging them to resume work, the matter being referred to a conference that could take place almost immediately, but the men declined.
