Mr. Hughes announced that the Premiers’ Conference has decided to establish a combined Court of Commonwealth and State Judges to determine the basic wage and working hours and to act as a Court of Appeal from the Federal and State courts, boards and tribunals. The proposal will not be operative until the various States pass legislation surrendering to the Commonwealth their powers to make laws respecting industrial arbitration. The combined court will prevent unfair ■competition between the States, but the court will have no jurisdiction over employees of the States, or State instrumentalities. ABOLITION OF BOARD OF TRADE. Sydney, Nov. 7. It is understood that the Board of Trade will probably be abolished in consequence of the industrial arbitration agreement arrived at by the Premiers’ Conference.
