PROPOSED INGLEWOOD TOURNAMENT, AN ENTHUSIASTIC MEETING. A proposal that the Taranaki Boxing Association should hold a tournament at Inglewood was discussed at a meeting held at Inglewood last night. Messrs. E. Jackson (deputy chairman), R. Barlow, R. Paul, W. Yardley, J. w. Abbott and E. Clarke (secretary) were present, representing the association, and there was a large muster of Inglewood sports. Mr. Jackson was voted to the chair, and extended a hearty welcome to all Inglewood enthusiasts. He intimated that the association was quite prepared to conduct a tournament, pnwided a local guarantee against loss was After discussion it was agreed to arrange a tournament for December 15, and a subcommittee, with Mr. Kendrick as chairman, was appointed to report to a meeting next Monday evening as to the amount of guarantee. The nature of the professional, bout will then be decided. Five amateur contests are also to be arranged. Guarantees amounting to £5O were received in the room, and offers of five medals for tae amateurs were forthcoming from various Inglewood supporters.
