GOLF.
HAWERA CLUB. In place of the display that was expected by Kirkwood, the Men’s Club had a field day on Wednesday to euark the closing of the season for 1921. In the morning a bogey 18 holes was played, in which C. H. Walker came first with' a score of two up on the Colonel; F. W. Sutton 2 down and J Quin 3 down were the next best cards in. The mixed foursomes was won by Mrs. Glasson and Fletcher, who won from Miss Burgess and Sutton in the play-off. Both pairs finished four up on bogey. The prizes were then presented by Mr. Tonks, as follows; Senior chrmpionship, J. Quin ; junior championship and Summer Cup. L. Walker; patrons trophy, H. S. Elliott; vice-president’s trophy and Mr. Sutton's Cup, C. H. Walker; captain’s cup and trophy, 1.. Quin; president’s medal, F. Quin; silver buttons (monthly trophies), L. Quin, C. 11. Wal-k--er (2), t. D. Caplen, H. Elliott, G. Ryan (2), Vinnicombc, F. 'Freweek; two golf balls, T. Kururangi and P, Pratt.—Star.
