Carpentier, who has just returned from 1 Morocco, desiring a rest, requested the , postponement of his fight until December 8, ; tc which Cook has consented. The British Boxing Board of Control decid■ed that the Ledoux-Harrison fight had not [ complied with international rules, through tne ( challenge not being issued and side stakes deposited through the board, and therefore decided not to claim the European championship on behalf of Harrison.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. COOK AND CARPENTIER. London, Nov. 3. Cook, interviewed by the Australian Press Association, said: "I fully realise the magnitude of my task, out I am certain to beat Carpentier. He cannot beat me down. I know I am his superior. So far as pace is concerned he is good, but he cannot do to me what he did to Beckett. The latter refuses to fight me. He is a good judge, because i would surely beat him. I repeat I shall beat Carpentier; do not make a mistake about •that.”—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
