Received Nov. 3, 7.30 p.m. Mc.it ’-wne, Nov. 3. : For the third day of the Victoria Racing i Clue’s spring meeting the weather was bright i but sultry. The going was good. Telecles was fourth early in the November ! Hurdle Race, but went to the front in the • straight and won handsomely. Telecles won ■ both the hurdles races at the meeting, and is i trained by Holt. ! Etherian was always prominent in the Mimosa j Stakes, and won nicely from the penalised j Beliambi. The time, Imin 13%see, was a re- ■ cord for the race. Etherlan is owned by the j breeder, Mr. E. E. D. Clarke. Jt gave Lewis ! his third winning ride at the meeting. ■ Furious, who was reported to have suffered I from an attack of colic in the morning, rallied, 1 and went to the front in the Oaks and won | Sir Ibex, ridden by Harrison, was third early ! in the Linlithgow Stakes, but came to the ■ front at the distance and won very easily, i giving his trainer (Holt) his fourth win. LeadI ing from the turn, Switch won the Carnival : Handicap well. MIMOSA STAKES; 750 sovs; for two-year-olds ; six furlongs.—Etherian, 8.5, 1; Bel lambi, 9.6, 2 ; Scarlet, 7.12, 3. Highcockett also ran. Won by three-quarters of a length, two and a half lengths between second and third. Time, Imin 13% sec. LINLITHGOW STAKES ; 1500 sovs ; standard weight-for-age; one mile.—Sir Ibex, 8.13, 1; Molly’s Robe, 8.11, 2; Demetrius, 8.0, 3. Nautical also ran. Won by eight lengths, six lengths between second and third. Time, Imin 40sec. CARNIVAL HANDICAP: 500 sovs; one mile and a quarter.—Switch, 6.13, 1; Wildun, 7.6, 2; Kingbier, 8.0, 3. Ten starters. Won by threequarters of a length, two lengths between second and third. Time. 2min C%sec.
