A FARMER’S DEATH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Nov. 1. John Schimanski, a farmer, was found dead at Kaiapoi last night with a gunshot wound in his head. He was married and was 39 years of age. DEATH FROM DRINK. Dargaville, Nov. 1. A man named Edward Robinson died under tragic circumstances yesterday. Deceased was engaged on public works and ceased work on October 22. He had been drinking at Tangi Teroria and jvas found in a helpless state on Sunday. He was hurried to a doctor in a car yesterday, but died outside the doctor’s residence. At the inquest a verdict that deceased died from the effects of excessive drinking of alcoholic liquor was returned.
