THE CEMENT COMMISSION.
OBJECTIONS BY MR. MASTERS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Oct. 31. Mr. Masters, M.P., is objecting to the order of reference of the Commission of Inquiry, wherein it is stated that the Board of Trade sanctioned the maximum retail price of cement at £9 13s 6d per ton, ex store, Wellington. Mr. Masters says he never used such figures, and quotes Hansard in support. He wishes to have substituted an inquiry whether the Board of Trade sanctioned a further rise of 30s per ton. He also wishes to have the words “or in icstraint of trade” added to Clause 3, on the ground that he said the agreement was in restraint of trade.
