The Herald states that the Government wheat pool is financed by a shipping syndicate headed by Lord Inchcape. Mr. Dooley gives this an absolute denial, and explains that £5,000,000 was raised through the Agent-General in the ordinary way. Dalgety’s are handling and chartering shipping, also arranging , for the disposal of the wheat abroad. Referring to the commission to be ' paid, Mr. Dooley added that two other shipping firms rejected the offer accepted by Dalgetys. CATTLE SHIPMENT LOST. Perth, Oct. 24. Vestey’s, Ltd., shipped .500 cattle from Kimberley (North Queensland) by steamer to Manila. The shipping took four days and, as a result of improvised stalling, the whole of the cattle died from exhaustion.
