RESTARTING RUSSIAN MINES.

BRITISH EXPERTS LEAVE FOR RUSSIA. Mr. Leslie Uruquhart, chairman of the Busso-Asiatic Consolidated, bdt., has left London for Russia with a small party to survey the prospects of restarting British* mines in Siberia, valued at more than £100,000,000. The step is regarded as important in so far that it will form the first big practical move in the direction of re-opening trade relations with Soviet Russia. The properties over which Mr. Urquhart has control consist of 2,500,000 acres of ground and 500 miles of railways, and the mines give a rich yield of gold, silver, tin, copper, and platinum. British shareholders in them number more than 12,000.
