MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
SITTING AT NEW PLYMOUTH A sitting of the Magistrate’s Court was held at New Plymouth yesterday, Mr. A. M. Mowlem, -S.M., presiding. For riding a bicycle along St. Aubyn Street at night without a light, O. Erickson was .fined £l, costs 7s. Judgment for plaintiff was given in the following cases: The Ridd Company, Ltd v. W. E. Young, £23 15s lOd, costs £3 8s; Purser’s, Ltd. v. Colin McLaren, £l3 3s Gd, costs £2 12s Gd. A number of informations were brought by the Defence authorities against members of A Company, 4th Battalion (Taranaki Rifles) for failing to attend parades. Donald Fitzherbert, 11. Hardwidge, H. Jaeka, J. Lukacbefski, and R. W. Lawson were each fined £l, costs 7s. On a second conviction R. Singh was fined £2, and the usual cqsts.
