THE RARAWA The Rarawa was expected to leave Onfehunga yesterday afternoon for New Plymouth, and should arrive here at 5.30 o’clock this morning. She will sail again at 8.30 p.m. On account of Labtir Day on Monday, the first trip from Onehunga next week is to be put back a day, so the Rarawa will not be here until Wednesday. ESSEX LOADING. The liner Essex, which arrived in the stream on Wednesday evening, was berthed early yesterday mofning and commenced loading. It was hoped to get the vessel away for Napier and Wellington to-morrow, but on account of the wet weather she will probably be in port over the weekend. Captain A. L. flughes is in command, and both he and Mr. A. McLachlan, the chief officer, visited New Plymouth previously on the Otarama in August of last year. The other officers are: Second officer, Mr. P. Aslin; third, Mr. C. D. Hughes; fourth, Mr. A. Loveland; surgeon. Dr. D. Ord; chief engineer, Mr. C. Metcalfe: third. Mt. J. Ridley; fourth, Mr. D. Moss: fifth, Mt. R. Irvihg; sixth, Mr. J. Smail; chief refrigerating engineer, Mr. W. Stanley; second, Mr. J. Norton; chief steward, Mr. F. Ryno. The vessel is serving, incidentally, as one of the company's training ships, 28 ckdets belhg oft board kt the present time. WIRBLESS FROM WHANOAPE. The Whangape (U.S.S. Co.) has notified by wireless that she expects to reach New Plymouth at about II o’clock this morning. The cargo from Newcastle for this port consists of about GOO tons of rails. The Whangape Is a vessel of 2981 tons, and Is commanded by Captain Appleyard. On arrival she will probably have to apchor In the stream to await the sailing of the Esftex, as she will probably not be able to take the Inner berth.

KABAMU PHOM WELLINGTON. The Karamu, which left Wellington at 11 p.m. on Wednesday night, arrived off the port at New Plymouth at 8 o’cNick last night. She Will berth early this morning to discharge general cargo, and will probably get aWay this afternoon for the south. RAMA TO-DAY. The Rama is expected to arrive from Wellington at about 1 p.m. to-day, with 250 tons of cargo to discharge. She should be ready to sail for Wellington about noon to morrow. PACIFIC SLOPE CARGO. The Union Company advise that the Waiotapu, cargo-laden from the Pacific Slope, left San Francisco on October 9 for Apla, Auckland and Wellington. The vessel is due at Auckland during the second week in November, and at Wellington a week later. The Walotapu comes to New Plymouth. The Waihora is now Ifta ding at Pacific Slope ports in November for New Zealand and Australian ports. The Waihora is now loading at Pacific Slope ports for New Zealand and Australian ports. MAKURA LEFT HONOLULU. Cable advice received by the Union Company states that the mail steamer Maktira arrived at Honolulu on Saturday morning from Vancouver, and sailed a few hours later for Suva and Auckland. She is due at Auckland on October 38, and Is timed to sail the same day for Sydney. TAHITI LEFT PAPEETE. Advice received by the Union Company states that the mail steamer Tahiti arrived at Papeete on Tuesday evening (11th instant) from Wellington, and sailed at 6 a.m. on Friday for San Prahcisco. She is due at the Californian trort on October 25. PALOONA FROM MELBOURNE. The Union Company advise that the Paloona is due at Wellington from Melbourne on Sunday, and since Monday is a holiday her departure for Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff and Melbourne has been postponed until Wednesday THE WAITEMATA. The Union Company advise that the Waltemata, from Calcutta and Singapore, via Townsville and Auckland, is due at Wellington on Monday. MAHENO FROM SYDNEY. The Maheno left Sydney at 5 p.m. on Wednesday direct for Wellington. She is due at Wellington on Sunday nelt. The vessel’s next trip to Sydney will be made from Wellington on October 25.
