SCHOOL ENTERTAINMENT.
CONCERT BY WEST END PUPILS. The concluding performance given by the pupils of the West End School last night was witnessed by another packed house. All the items were appreciatively received-, encores being the rule, and the performers were the recipients of numerous floral bouquets. Mr. J. Lovell was twice recalled for his presentation of humorous items, and Gerald Hoskin’s recitation of “The East Wind” earned him a similar compliment. The West End “Blackbirds,” who provided the second portion of the programme, were very popular in their variety turns.
The committee are indebted to a number of helpers, including Messrs. Patterson and Co., who provided the lighting effects gratis, and Mr. E. Hoffmann for the loan of the piano. During the interval Mr. J. S. S. Medley (chairman) expressed thanks to all who had assisted to make the concert a success, and to the adult who took a part with the c£uldxc%
