THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL.
VISIT TO NORTH TARANAKI. TH® PROGRAMME APPROVED. Advice has been received by the Mayor (Mr. F. E. Wilson) that the programme submitted for the visit of their Excellencies the 'Governor-General and Lady Jellieoe to New Plymouth, Inglewood, and Waitara, commencing on the 27th inst., has been approved. There is a s-Hght e.Heratio.n in connection with the function at the Clarke Memorial Hostel, the opening ceremony being fixed for 2 p.m. instead of 3 p.m. on Friday (October 28)2 The offichtl reception, through the courtesy of the High School authorities, will take place at the High School, on the Friday morning. Owing to his Excellency having consented to unveil a war memorial at Auroa on the Thursday afternoon, it is possible that the arrival of the V ceRegal party in New Plymouth may be delayed somewhat. His Worship the Mayor has received word that his Excellency the Goverror has consented to unveil the war memorial which haa been erected by Bell Block residents. The ceremony will take place on the Sunday afternoon, at 2.15 p.m. o’clock.
