BOXING.

TARANAKI ASSOCIATION. TOURNAMENT NEXT SATURDAY. Arrangements are now almost complete for the Taranaki Boxing Association’s big tournament, which takes place in the Coronation Hall next Saturday night, 22nd inst. The articles for the big professional bout between Laurie Cadman, of Auckland, and Jack Heeney, of Gisborne, for the middleweight championship of the Dominion, have been signed and completed. Cadman, who has been doing his training at. Auckland, will arrive here by the Rarawa to-morrow morning, while Heeney, the other contestant, is expected to arrive on Wednesday. Both men are stated to be very fit. Reports to hand state that the amateurs who are taking part in the tournament are all training on well. At the coming tournament a hcavy-welglit bout will be staged, the contestants being flills, of Riverlea, aad Pepperell, of Matapu. This gives promise of being a very good bout. The box plan opens at Collier’s this morning. when intending patrons should see about reserving their seats. Members of the association are also reminded of their privileges, of which they should take advantage- of tage of.
