CRICKET.

PLAY ON SATURDAY. Cricketers indulged in some further practice ot Saturday afternoon, and there was a good attendance of players at the racecourse grounds. At Western Park unembers of the newly-formed club in this locality rolled up in good numbers, and the practice was interspersed with some work towards improving the grounds, a number of mowers being put to good use in cutting down the grass. OLD BOYS’ CLUB. A meeting of the Old Boys’ Cricket Club was held on Saturday night, when Mr. A. Bewley presided over an attendance of about twenty members. Officers were elected as follows: President, Dr. Fookes; vlee-piesldent, Messrs. W. H. Moyes, E. P. Webster and S. S. Osborne; treasurer, E. D. Colson; secretary, J. Willis; committee, Messrs. C. G. Bottrill, A. H. Osborne. A. Bewley, Papps, E. D. Colson and H. R. Billing; delegates to the association, Messrs. A. H. Osborne, and C. G. Bottrill. Tie subscription was fixed: Senior 255, reducible to £1 if paid before December 1; juniors 15s, reducible to 10s for members under 20. The matter of practice was left in the hands of the committee with the understanding that it should be got under way as soon as possible. Mr. A. Bewley was elected club captain. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Moyes for the assistance that he has given the club and also to Mr. C. G. Bottrill.
