ENTERTAINMENTS.
WEST END SCHOOL ENTERTAINMENT. Indications point to there being very large attendances at the entertainment to be given in the Empire Theatre on Wednesday and Thursday evening in aid of the West End School. tickets are selling very freely, and when the booking opened at Collier and Co.’s yesterday there was a good <lem ud tor reserves. The young performer- had another rehear.iil last night and all got through their items in a highly creditable manner. The final rehearsal is to be held in the Empire Theatre on Monday night, so that patrons can rely on everything going off with a zest on Wednesday evening. The children have entered keenly into the various items that make up the diversified programme, and Messrs. J. Hoskin, J. Lovell and T. Petty, who have been working hard in preparing them, shoultl be well rewarded by the results achieved. The staging and lighting effects should enhance the performance, whieh promises to be one of the most successful school entertainments held here.
