BOXING.
TOURNAMENT AT NEW PLYMOUTH. Great interest is being aroused in the Taranaki Boxing Association’s tournament, which takes place in the Coronation Hall next Saturday night. As the professional bout between Laurie Cadman and Jack Heeney is for" the middle-weight professional championship of New Zealand, the contest is of interesUio boxing enthusiasts throughout the Dominion—and the result will be eagerly awaited. Cadman Is the idol of the Auckland public, and a large number from the northern city are expected to come down to see the bout. Gisbornites will not hear of Heeney (the holder of the championship) being beaten, so a battle royal will be the result. Amongst the excellent amateur bouts to be staged will De the welter contest between Jack Willis, of New Plymouth, who is a lad of great promise, and A. Clarry, the well-known Eltham boxer. A. Collins and D. Childs (both of Stratford) will be matched in the fly-weight, and patrons who have seen Collins in action will look forward to this
