INGLEWOOD
(From Our Own Correspondent.) • Oct. 10. Mr. Herman Sander, who has for several years been a resident in this part of Taranaki, formerly in the district east of Tarata, but latterly in the immediate neighborhood of Inglewood, has decided to seek fresh fields for his energies, with which object he is leaving Inglewood very shortly. During his sojourn here he has taken his share of the work of his district, having served on the Clifton County Council as representative of the Ngatimaru Riding of that county. By his genial social manner, and ever willing readiness to help forward any project for the general welfare, or to give a neighbor practical assistance, he has made many friends, who will certainly miss him, and at the same time as certainly wish him good fortune wherever he determines to throw in his lot. At Newton King, Ltd.’s mart sale on Saturday there was a very large attendance. The pig pens were well filled, though baby calves occupied some of them and sold well; heifers, from 4s ot 20s; bulls, up to 4s. Pigs more than maintained late prices, weaners making from 27s 6d to 355; small store pigs, £2 2s 6d. Cocks and hens made from 2s to 3s; broody hens, 3s 9d; turkeys, 13s 6d. The horses, which had been advertised as well as other sundries, found ready purchasers at good figures, and a lot of rimu posts sold at Is 3d.
