A CHALLENGE.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —I note in your issue of to-day that at the Eltham County Council’s meeting last Saturday, Cr. McGuinness stated that their clerk’s letter—which, I stated, was { full of inaccuracies—was correct in every < detail. I challenge Cr. McGuinness to meet me at any place he wishes and place the letter before a county chairman of the, Taranaki province, whom he may choose, and abide by his decision. If that gentleman says, after evidence, the letter is not correct in every detail, Cr. McGuinness to pay £2O to the Stratford Hospital; if it is correct, I will pay that amount to the hospital.—l am, etc., E. WALTER. Douglas, Oct. 10.
