THE MEAT MARKET. PRICES AT WESTFIELD. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Beef.—A large yarding. Prices, compared with last week, showed a decline of about 2s per 1001 b. Extra prime 31s to 275; plain and second quality £1 Cs to £1; prime cows and heifers £1 9s to £1 ss; plain 20s to Sheep.—Moderate yarding. Prices about on a par. Extra heavy wethers 235; prime 22s to 18s; plain 16s Cd to 13s. Ewes, extra heavy 17s Cd; prime 16s to 13s; others 12s to 10s. Calves.—Good yarding. Good vealers met with a keen demand. Runners £5 10s to £4; vealers £3 IDs to £2 ss; fresh dropped Ss to ss. Pigs.—Very large yarding. Prices suffered accordingly. Baconers, £5 10s to £4 10s; choppers, £5 to £4; porkers, £3 to £2. Lambs —Fair yarding. Very keen competition. Extra heavy 31s 9d, prime 30s to 255, others 23s to 18s.
