ISSUE WITHIN DOMINION. AUTHORITY FOR WAITARA. Authority to borrow money at 6i per 'cent. Within New Zealnad has been granted to several local authorities by Orders-in-Council gazetted last Thursday. Previously the only loan sanctioned at this rate was the Auckland Hospital Board’s issue of £20,000. Details of the loans now sanctioned at 6 A per cent, are as follow: Hamilton Borough Council, £BOOO (balance of £33,000), for electricity, water works and offices; Gore Borough Council, £6OOO for renewal purposes; Christchurch City Council, £5600 (balance fo £16,000) for the purchase of a property for municipal buildings, £6430 (balance of £7430) for the renewal of a loan, £7500 for renewal of a loan, £7OOO for sanitary works, £98,000 (balance of £150,000) for electricity distribution. The Waitara Borough Council has been authorised to borrow beyond New Zealand at 7 per cent. £6BOO (balance of £8000) for electric lighting.
