TARIKI DAIRY COMPANY.

THE ANNUAL REPORT. The fourteenth annual report of the Tariki Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., for the year ended June 30, 1921, says: Cheese made at the central factory amounted to 72 tons 9 cwt 3 qrs 3 lb, and at the Rugby Road branch 81 tons 1 cwt 1 qr 31b. Total: 153 tons 11 cwt 0 qrs 6 lb. Creamery butter was made from December 11, 1920, to June 30, 1921, and amounted to 95 tons 0 cwt 1 qr 14 lb. Advances have been made of Is 10.25 d on butterfat supplied for cheese-making, and 2s 4.5 d on butterfat for butter-making, and since the date of balancing a further payment has been made of 3d per lb on butterfat supplied from December 11 to March 31 (£lBBl 17s 7d), making the total payments for the season 2s 2.55 d. Final payments cannot be made until account sales come to hand for cheese still unaccounted for. To provide for the repayment of the balance of the cost of the buildings and plant at Rugby Road, and the butter plant at Tariki, steps have been taken to increase the share capital to £lO,OOO by the creation of 7000 new shares. Advance payments on account of shares to be allotted on the new issue, amounting to £lOOO, on the basis of the 1920-21 supply, have been made. You will be asked to elect three directors for Tariki, one in place of Mr. Cowley, who has resigned, and two in place of Messrs. Laurence and Nuttall, who retire by rotation. Also to elect one director for Rugby Road in place of Mr. J. R. Jones, who retires by rotation, and is eligible for re-election. The following statistics are given: Cheese-making.—Lbs of milk: Tariki, 1,499,935; Rugby Road, 1,759,946. Lbs of butterfat: Tariki, 59,378; Rugby Road, 70,035. Lbs of cheese: Tariki, 159,824; Rugby Road, 184,134. Average test: Tariki, 3.96; Rugby Road, 3.98. Lbs of milk to lb ,of cheese: Tariki, 9.45; Rugby Road, 9.55. Lbs of cheese to 11b butterfat: Tariki, 2.69; Rugby Road, 2.63.
