AGRICULTURE IN AMERICA.
BAD CONDITIONS IN INDUSTRY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright Received Oct. 2, 5£ p.m. Washington, Sept. 30. Washington representatives of the American Farm Bureau told the Unemployment Committee that if agriculture was established the unemployment problem would be solved. Agriculture is now practically bankrupt, owing to high freight rates and low food prices and other economic handicaps. By putting the farmer back to a place where he can afford to buy a vast market for commodities would be re-opened, causing factories to increase their capacity and provide work for the idle.—Aus.-N.Z.
