BLAST FURNACE EXPLOSION. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—-Copyrigtt. Berlin, Sept. 28* . A blast furnace in metal works at Varel, near Oldenburg, exploded. Eight then were killed and many injured. ELIMINATING MIDDLEMEN. London, Sept. 28. Scottish tweed manufacturers are proposing to form a combine to eliminate London wholesalers, contending that they can halve the price of suits and increase profits. PLOTS AT TEHERAN. Delhi, Sept. 28. Persian advices state that the discovery of a plot at Teheran to murder the Premier and the Minister of War ■feaulted in a number of arrests, including the former keeper of the Holy Shrine at Meshed. A metaber of Ministry is implicated; he is taking refuge with the Shah at his summer palace. ECONOMIC SANCTIONS. Paris, Sept. 28. M. Briand informed the German Ambassador that the economic sanctions would be removed on Friday. M. Briand informed the Cabinet that the Allies had agreed to establish control of the Rhenish frontier after raising economic sanctions. The German Government accepted the conditions. UNION MEMBERS EXPELLED. London, Sept. 29.. The National Sailors’ and Firemen’s Union expelled a number of members, mostly left wing elements, who formed vigilance committees to watch the interests of the rank and file. The oxipelled members charged the executive with thriving oh the men’s contributions and being little better than boarding-house ruamers.
