ELTHAM.
BOXING ASSOCIATION. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Sept. 20. The annual meeting of the Eltham Boxing Association was held last evening, Mr. H. D. Forsyth presiding over a fair attendance. The balance-sheet disclosed a credit balance of £35. In speaking to the report and balance-sheet, Mr. Forsyth stated that considering the heavy expenditure incurred during the first year of the association,!the position was a most satisfactory one. The association was particularly fortunate in having such good officers, and he was satisfied that it took pride of place amongst other associations. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. G. H. Taylor; president, Mr. H. D. Forsyth; vice-presidents, Messrs. F. Casey, C. Cumming, 11. Gibson, .1. Dunn, A. Ware, A. A. Stewart; committee, Messrs. Jas. Carlson, P. Carlson, A. Ware, J. Dunn, L. Nodder, H. Nodder, H. B. Gibson, F. Cuff, J. Cooper, P. Hawke, B. G. Tayler; secretary and treasurer, Mr. B. G. Tayler; auditor, Mr. H. Northover. The secretary’s honorarium was fixed at 20 guineas. Drs. Cooper, Boyd and Mackay were appointed hon. surgeons. The following new members were nominated: Messrs. T. King, W. Heyes, A. Humphries, P. Jenkins, W. Waters, W. McDavitt, W. Bieheno, Alex. Coleman, R. J. Knuckey, C. Vickeridge, E. Dive. A meeting of the new committee was fixed for Wednesday, October 5, when the question of putting on another tourney will be discussed. ELTHAM FOOTBALL CLUB. The above club will benefit to the extent of £45, the net proceeds from the ball held on the 26th inst. The thanks of the club are specially due to those ladies and gentlemen who so successfully carried out the arrangements.
