THEFT ADMITTED.

EDUCATION BOARD SECRETARY. TWENTY CHARGES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Nelson, Last Night. Norman Rule Williams, secretary to the Nelson Education Board, appeared on remand in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, charged with the theft of money from the Education Board. It was shown in evidence that accused handled £90,000 a year, and his accountancy was unequal to the task, the books being in a regular muddle. Twenty charges, involving £625, were preferred against accused. Pleas of guilty were entered in each instance, and accused was committed to the Supreme Court at Wellington for sentence. The auditor, in evidence, stated that accused had given every assistance in his power to clean up the books.
