TO BE KEPT FOR FUTURE USE. HELPING CASES OF DISTRESS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Regarding the resolution dealing with canteen funds passed by the N.Z.R.S.A. conference at Dunedin regarding the control and disposal of the funds, the Canteen Trust Fund Board passed a resolution that the trustees consider the funds should not at present be used for any purpose outside the scope of the resolution of May. This resolution was to the effect that beyond assisting units in writing regimental histories, in accordance with the conditions under jvhich the regimental funds were handed to the general fund, the canteen funds should not be dissipated at the present time, but should be preserved for future requirements in the relief of ■distress on the part of soldiers’ widows, orphans and dependents.
