ANOTHER IN BRITAIN. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Sept. 23. The Louth by-election resulted: Mrs. Wintringham 8386, Hutchinge 7595, George 3873. Received Sept. 25, 5.5 p.m. London, .Sept. 23. Lady Astor has telegraphed Mrs. Wintringham: “Rejoicing over your victory. I shall welcome you to the House of Commons.” Mrs. Wintringham was a schoolmistress before her marriage, and is a fluent public speaker, but owing to bereavement sire only made two or three speeches during the election campaign. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. (Mrs. Wintringham is the widow of the late member, who died suddenly in the House of Commons. Mr. Wintringham (Independent Liberal) won the seat from the Coalition Unionists at a byelection in June, 1920.)
