The Rimu passed the Manukau Heads at 1.10 p.m. yesterday en route to New Plymouth, and should arrive here early this morning. She will sail on the return trip at 8.30 p.m. CORINNA ARRIVES. The Corinna arrived early yesterday morning from Dunedin, via the usual South Island ports, bringing 800 tons of cargo, which was being discharged yesterday. It was hoped to get the vessel away for the south late last night. ALEXANDER FROM WESTPORT.
The Alexander, which is bringing coal, left Westport shortly after 4 o’clock on Thursday afternoon, and arrived here at 5 p.m. yesterday with a cargo of coal to discharge. RAMA PROM WELLINGTON. The Rama left Wellington at 1.20 p.m. yesterday for New Plymouth with general cargo to put out here. The vessel should arrive this morning. WAIKAWA TO-MORROW. The Union Company advise that their transpacific cargo steamer Waikawa was scheduled to leave Lyttelton yesterday, and should reach this port to-morrow. She loaded at San Francisco, Vancouver and several other Pacific ports. ' KUROW FROM NEWCASTLE. The Union Company’s Kurow was expected to leave Wellington yesterday for New Plymouth. At that port she has picked up general cargo (including transhipments) and chaff. In addition to this, the vessel has for discharge here 2000 tons of coal and 600 tons of rails, loaded at Newcastle. She should arrive to-morrow. WHANGAPE MAY BRING COAL. Tuesday’s New Zealand Herald stated: “The Whangape, which is discharging coai and general cargo from Australia at the Central wharf, is to dock after discharge, and sails about the end of the week for Newcastle to load a cargo of coal for Auckland, via New Plymouth and Napier.” The New Plymouth office of the Union Steamship Company has not so far received any advlcfe to this effect. EASTERNER SAILS. The liner Easterner, which arrived from New York via ports on Saturday, the 17th inst, completed discharging her benzine cargo yesterday, and sailed for Newcastle at 2.30 p.m. CARGO FROM WEST OF ENGLAND. The Federal Line advise that the Waimate and Kaikoura have been fixed to load at West of England ports for New Zealand ports. The 'Waimate wlil leave Home on October 8, and the Kaikoura follows on November 7. WAITEMATA LEFT SINGAPORE. Cable advice has been received by tie Union Company, which states that, the Waitemata, en route from Calcutta to New Zealand ports, via Townsville, resumed her voyage from Singapore on Sunday last. She is due at Auckland about the second week ‘n October, and should reach Wellington a week later. WAIHEMO FROM PACIFIC SLOPE. The Union Company’s steamer Waihemo left : Los Angeles on the 14th inst., for New Zealand ports with general cargo and case oil, loaded at Vancouver, San Francisco and Los Angeles. The vessel is due at Auckland about October 9. She has cargo to discharge at Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton. Timaru, Dunedin, and Australia. THE PALOONA. The Union Company advise that their intercolonial passenger steamer Paloona is to leave Melbourne to-day for Wellington, where she is due next Thursday. The vessel will sail from Wellington about Thursday or Friday next for southern ports and Melbourne. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. ARRIVED.
