BRADFORD WOOL MARKET. By Telegraph.—Press Assu.—Copyright. Jxmdon, Sept. 19. The Bradford wool market shows a good tone and is more active. Prices are hardening. FARMERS’ CO-OP. REPORT. The Farmers’ Co-operative Organisation Society of New Zealand, Ltd., reports as follows : At Opunake on Monday we had a full yarding of cattle. Prices were on about a par with late rates. Quotations: —Slips to 20s, store pigs to £2 3s, sows to farrow £5, sound young empty cows £3 to £4, store cows to 30s, old cows 5s to 10s, 2-year-old mixed empty heifers £4 15s to £5 10s, yearling do. £2 10s to £3 15s, Jersey do. to £6 10s, yearling steers to 14s, best dairy heifers £l3 to £l4 10s, others £lO to £l2 10s, rough sorts to £9. On Tuesday, at Manaia, we had a fairly good entry, but the sale was dull and dragging. However, we managed to quit the bulk of the entry. Store pigs to £2 6s, slips to 30s, suckers to 20s, fat sheep 21s 9d, empty heifers £5 to £6 10s, fat cows to £5 12s Bd, forward cows £3 to £4, young store cows 20s to 255, old cows to 10s, Jersey yearling heifers £6 to £7, others £3 to £4, yearling steers 10s to 15s, best dairj' heifers £l4 to £l6, others £l2 and £9, dairy cows £lO to £l9.
On Wednesday at Inglewood there was a full yarding of cattle and a small entry of gheep. Prices were on about a par with late rates. Fat wethers made 21s 9d, ewes with lambs at foot 15s, fat cows to £6 10s, forward cows to £3 10s, young store cows to 255, old cows to 15s, young sound empty cows to £3 10s, 2-year Jersey heifers £7 to £B, mixed 2-year heifers £4 10s to £6, Jersey yearling heifers to £7, well-grown mixed yearlings to £3 15s, others £2 10s to £3, 3-year steers, low conditioned £2 l # os to £3, yearling steers to £ 14, best Jersey heifers close to profit to £l9, others to £l2 10s, Holstein and Shorthorn do. £9 to £l2 10s, dairy cows, best to £2O, others to £ll. On Friday, at Auroa, we had a good entry. Dairy stock were In good demand and sold at prices in advance of late rates. A line of yearling pedigree bulls also brought good money. Store pigs made to £2 ss, slips to 30s, spring cart gelding £27, do. £24, hoggets to Ils Id, forward cows to £3 9s, others 15s to 30s, Jersey yearling heifers £6 12s to £B, others to £4, pedigree yearling Jersey bulls 37 guineas, 35 guineas, 25 guineas, and 20 guineas, dairy cows £lO to £l9, heifers to £l5. SALE OF EMPTY JERSEY HEIFERS. At the special sale of empty Jersey heifers to be held on Thursday, the 29tli inst., at the Farmers’ Co-op. yards, Inglewood, those in search of good dairy cattle of this description will have a good chance of having their wants supplied. The present entries comprise some 500 head, which will be drafted in lots to suit purchasers. The heifers have all been well wintered on turnips and hay, and are from some of the best herds in the North Taranaki district. .
