LEGALISING LOTTERIES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. Perth, .Sept. 16. In the Assembly Mr. Boyland introduced a Bill legalising lotteries for charitable purposes. TASMANIAN APPLE SHIPMENTS. Melbourne, Sept. 17. Mr. M Williams, former Country Party leader, in the House of Representatives, has arranged with Mr. Eva, manager of the Commonwealth Government line of steamers for the latter to call at Hobart during the apple season, the calls to be made monthly from the end of January, and a million bushels of apples to be exported. PROPOSED WHEAT POOL. Adelaide, Sept. 17. Mr. Bice, chief secretary, replying to a deputation of fanners who desired a voluntary wheat pool, promised to place the request before Cabinet’, but explained that if the Government were expected to finance it they would want control.
